Sue dobrich
retired, Community volunteer
Why did you choose to serve on the United Way of Southwest Michigan board? Volunteering for United Way allows me to be part of causes that I care about, make a positive impact, and see the direct impact of the efforts.
What does our mission mean to you? The mission means strengthening our community to make it a better place for my family and grandchildren.
What is one local cause or community issue that you are especially passionate about, and why? I am passionate about the soup kitchen. I know that many individuals are unable to meet their needs for many reasons and many of the reasons are outside of their control. I also am very concerned and committed to bringing more resources to drug addiction issues. Addiction is a brain disease that we need to put more resources into helping individuals to get sober but also remain sober and provide support to families living with this disease.
When you're not working or volunteering, what’s a favorite hobby or activity you enjoy? When I am not working or volunteering, I love to walk and ride my bike. I love being outdoors to feel the fresh air and see and hear the birds. I love to read and to listen to books. I love sports and love to go to football and basketball games. I love my family and spending time with my family and walking my dog, Remy and holding my cat, Lucy.
