What is Volunteer United?

Volunteer United is a technology-based repository of volunteer opportunities from more than 100 local agencies and organizations. 

The Volunteer United site:

• Provides our community with a “one-stop-shop” to find volunteer opportunities

• Eases volunteer management

• Automates communication

• Makes reporting easier

With your help, we can populate this site with ample volunteer opportunities. Your agency can connect with more volunteers who support your cause and have the skills and interests you're looking for.

Eligible Organizations  

Volunteer opportunities are eligible for posting if they:   

• Are with a not-for-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code, a public nonprofit or government entity (such as city, county, public school district)

• Are an organization located within Berrien, Cass and/or Van Buren County

• Additional information can be found in our Partnership Agreement.

Creating a Great Volunteer Experience

• Communicate

• Greet and welcome them

• Plan ahead/ Be prepared

• Engage with volunteers

• Share your organization’s mission. Connect their efforts as a positive impact on your agency and those you serve

• Show your appreciation!  Say “Thank You” when they’re there. Follow up with a thank-you email.

• Get their feedback on their experience to improve future volunteer events.

Let’s get you started! We include a variety of resources available from the Galaxy Digital/GetConnected team (because they created the technology and, therefore, they know best!)

1. Create your own personal volunteer profile. This is a profile for YOU as an individual. After this is done you can start working on your Agency’s profile.  

2. Create your agency’s page
