Volunteer Investment Team

Help us make funding decisions—join a UWSM investment team!

It’s YOU, the community, who decides how United Way funding is applied to meet the needs of Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties. Add YOUR voice to the conversation. We are looking for diverse individuals from all walks of life throughout our entire service area to volunteer as an Investment Team Member!

Description

Investment Team members play two primary roles. They make the initial funding recommendations for our Impact Partners, and they monitor progress reports from the Impact Partners to ensure that each program/project is making progress towards its outputs, outcomes and/or indicators.

 Responsibilities

• Participate in training (December 2021).

• Recommend funding for Impact Partners on decision-making years.

• Review progress reports of Impact Partners every 6 months and identify any potential concerns that may require further action.

• Participate in meetings (decision-making meetings will take place in January and February 2022); progress report review meetings will take place every 6 months (August and February).

• Review information on eCImpact prior to attending meetings.

Commitment

• At the beginning of the funding cycle (2022), team members will volunteer about 10-12 hours; after that it will be about 2-3 hours every 6 months.

• The funding cycle runs from 2022-2025. We prefer to retain team members throughout the funding cycle but realize that flexibility is important as things come up and lives change.

* Meetings may be held in-person or virtually, depending on the restrictions at the time of the meetings.

We will work hard to accommodate all individuals who are interested in participating.
