DIRECTOR, Berrien College Access Network (BCAN)

United Way of Southwest Michigan is looking to add to the team to support the Berrien College Access Network (BCAN).  BCAN is a collaboration of community members and organizations that are committed to improving college access and career readiness for Berrien County residents, particularly among low-income youth, first generation college going students, and students of color. 

The BCAN Director will provide support for the continued growth and vision of the Berrien College Access Network facilitating a seamless cradle to career system for Berrien County.  This may include delivery of a common agenda with shared objectives and metrics, continuous communication, backbone support of the initiative by promoting shared leadership, ownership, and capacity among all members of the Network.

The best candidate will have excellent planning skills and be able to communicate effectively; manage  multiple projects with a high degree of organization and time management is confident, can work both as a self-directed individual and a team player and will have a high proficiency with Microsoft Windows suite.  Experience in community development work, public relations, program development and evaluation, project and data collection and management, strategic planning and group facilitation desired.  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study, preference given to a candidate with a Master’s Degree.
