What inspired you to become a part of United Way?

In my previous role as Executive Director at the Boys & Girls Club of Benton Harbor, UWSM was very instrumental in helping the club achieve financial stability and reach its programmatic outcomes as a funded partner. That process also helped me to become more aware of the great impact that is accomplished by all of UWSM’s funded partners.

Why do you serve on the board?

I serve on the board to help raise money to improve the socioeconomic mobility of Michigan’s Great Southwest. Serving on the board is also an excellent way to maximize collective impact and stay engaged within the community.

What is your leadership philosophy?

I strive to model servant leadership and to inspire others to achieve their personal best.

What is your most memorable volunteer experience?

One of my most memorable volunteer experiences was seeing elementary students improve multiple grade reading levels through the HOSTS literacy program at Benton Harbor Area Schools.

What is your motto?

Do your personal best!
