Volunteers play a vital role in United Way of Southwest Michigan's work to make our community stronger. It matters to those in need and to the agencies you help. Every day, we create positive change in Berrien and Cass counties. But we can’t do it without you.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
VITA gets money back into the pockets of working families who need it most! Two types of volunteers are needed: Tax preparers will prepare taxes for low income working families (training provided) and intake specialists will help people sign up at locations, making sure they have all their proper documentation.
In order to allow low-income, hard working families the access they need to food and household items throughout the summer months we ask companies to hold donation drives for our local pantries in May and June to help keep their shelves stocked. We also seek volunteers to help sort and deliver the donations to the pantries. This is a simple way to get involved that can have a huge impact on families in Berrien & Cass counties.
Volunteer teams are needed to rake leaves, clean gutters, and weatherize windows for seniors citizens in your community! These activities can be difficult, if not impossible, for seniors. They can easily fall, strain muscles or simply not be physically able to do the work. But with your help, seniors could be ready for winter!
If you want to help no matter how, we always have an opportunity for you. In the office, or in some external event, your time will be very appreciated.
