This hit musical spawned the acclaimed 1972 movie that starred Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey. It is set in Berlin in 1930, a time of political unrest and economic chaos. Sally Bowles is an English cabaret singer working at the downtown Kit Kat Club where anything and everything goes. Into this young singer's life come a poor but handsome American writer, a rich Nazi politician, a German widow and her Jewish beau, and of course, the all-knowing, all-seeing Master of Ceremonies.
